Jack's room is mostly basic, it has to be said.
In fairness, he hasn't had much chance to make it his own - it has only been (ahem) somewhere private to go that is not the TARDIS for when he visits Milliways.
And since he is not Bound, for most of the time it stays empty, storing just some clean clothes and basic necessities (well - basic if you're Jack) and not much else.
There is this to be said for it, too:
The door may be locked, but it is not booby-trapped.
Lucky for some.

Date: 2011-07-23 12:51 am (UTC)He gets up carefully, and paces around to place himself within Puck's eyeline, out of reach of the couch, and makes his report.
"It's been a few hours, entirely uneventful."
..Briefly.

Date: 2011-07-23 03:36 am (UTC)Puck sits up, the movement slow but strangely fluid. He yawns away the last of his sleep.
--Hours? Plural?
This whole thing must really be getting to him.

Date: 2011-07-24 12:52 am (UTC)Havelock stretches out, catlike, then inclines his head towards the balcony.
"There's been some movement out there, but no sign of attack; and I have heard nothing from out in the corridors.

Date: 2011-07-24 02:14 am (UTC)"--Ah," he says.
"Yes. Certes."
Beat. "Have you that weapon about?"
no subject
Date: 2011-07-24 09:21 pm (UTC)He reaches onto the seat of a nearby chair to pick up the device, still cautious.

Date: 2011-07-24 10:14 pm (UTC)"Very well. I had wondered."
no subject
Date: 2011-07-25 12:26 am (UTC)It's served him well more than once before, and the more Puck- the more the creature explains himself, perhaps the more clear Havelock's situation will become.

Date: 2011-07-25 12:39 am (UTC)The arch of his brows seems to say, Yeeees?

Date: 2011-07-25 12:48 am (UTC)"It seems our truest ally. I hated to lose sight of't."

Date: 2011-07-25 12:54 am (UTC)"I would be more sanguine if I knew the thing were reliable."
He dislikes not knowing how something works.

Date: 2011-07-25 01:17 am (UTC)"'Tis rather a trial to make much test of it."
no subject
Date: 2011-07-25 01:20 am (UTC)"Indeed."
The number of holes in the wall would be progidious even if he only made a conservative test.
"Best to save it for only the most vital of escapes, perhaps."

Date: 2011-07-25 01:33 am (UTC)He regards the gun in silence a moment. All of a sudden, there doesn't seem to be any good place to move.
"... My name," he begins.
no subject
Date: 2011-07-26 09:47 pm (UTC)Without looking, he carefully reaches out and places the gun on a table nearby.
Having weapons to hand is a habit but... not that one.

Date: 2011-07-27 12:32 am (UTC)"Did Hellebore give it thee?"
no subject
Date: 2011-07-27 12:41 am (UTC)"Yes," he says. "Was it wrong?"
He's actually not sure what he means just for the moment - the wrong name, or wrong that he know knows it? - which is disconcerting.
no subject
Date: 2011-07-27 12:46 am (UTC)"Ah-- nearly, I think. Or perhaps nearly right. You have his manner about you when you speak it."
That is not exactly what he means, but it is difficult to explain the matter of names and true names and names from one's own lips. At least, it's difficult to explain it to mortals.
Though to be fair, this is the first time Puck has tried in quite a long while.
"Puck," he tries, and the timber of his voice is neither Havelock's nor Hellebore's, but there is something in the way the syllable falls that, in some way, does seem to recall them both.
no subject
Date: 2011-07-27 01:03 am (UTC)"Puck," says Havelock again, slow and thoughtful, and his voice is still his own, but the nuance mimics the way Puck spoke exactly.
It's not something he's had much opportunity to try, but the knack has not deserted him yet.
"Still wrong?"
no subject
Date: 2011-07-27 01:08 am (UTC)"No," he decides after a moment.
"'Tis right as it can be, the poorly name that it is. You see, you have it of my own lips, as I have yours." His lips curl in a very slight smile, and he murmurs, "Havelock."
no subject
Date: 2011-07-27 01:33 am (UTC)How must it be, to need to protect your own name, and what could you use another for, once given?
It's hard to say.
And the creature - Puck, and the name echoes very precise in his mind - did not have to teach him that.
no subject
Date: 2011-07-27 01:40 am (UTC)"You had best take care how you give it, and to whom. My kin wear their own names very close, but they joy in learning more."
no subject
Date: 2011-07-27 02:00 am (UTC)Havelock isn't quite sure how to take being handed information like that.
The same as anything else he learns, he supposes; keeping it carefully remembered but kept to himself.
"I can manage that."
no subject
Date: 2011-07-27 02:09 am (UTC)... Actually, that seems a sensible sort of response to him.
"Good," he says, subsiding back onto the couch with his arms over his (still bare) chest. He's only getting hungrier, but right now he doesn't at all want to risk a trip down that little hole in the wall.
Perhaps come morning.
no subject
Date: 2011-07-27 02:35 am (UTC)Then again, Havelock is watching him as if he can peel him open with a just a calm, level gaze.
(It's amazing how many people that actually works with, and, well - it's interesting.)
"We should be secure enough here," he says eventually. "To venture out, within reason."
